Okzhetpes

A fairy tale of a gifted Kazakhstani writer, Jan Amany, tells a story of one aul: its fables, legends, beliefs, and miraculous events that happened to its people and now are passed over from one generation to the next.
The author was inspired by Okzhetpes – a Tazy breed dog. Amany conveys her admiration towards this noble breed through the protagonists of her stories – Doszhan-ata and his grandson Bakhytbek.
